You certainly recall that, way back in October, Tyrese claimed he and Ludacris had turned down an offer to do a Fast and Furious spinoff of their own. This claim arrived amid Tyrese’s publicly vented frustrations surrounding the announcement of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Hobbs-centered spinoff. But according to Ludacris, no such offer existed.

“Man, that is such a great question and the answer to that question is absolutely not,” Ludacris said on Thursday’s Breakfast Club when asked if they ever really had an offer. “That’s my brother, so sometimes when he puts things out there, it’s okay for me to just, you know, retract certain statements and give it from my perspective and state the facts.”
Ludacris added that he and Tyrese had private discussions about the possibility of a spinoff, and even hit social media to judge fans’ reactions to the idea, but insisted no formal offer was ever given by the studio or anyone else. “The answer to your question is no,” he said. “There was no official spinoff offer.”
Asked about his current relationship with Tyrese, Luda explained that he reached out to him during the Rock drama with some advice. “I did everything in my power to try to tell him that I felt like how he was handling things was done in the wrong way,” he said. “I felt like his anger, his frustration, was misguided.” For now, Luda added, he and Tyrese are “brothers at at a very strong disagreement.”
