Kim Kardashian says the experience of using a surrogate mother to carry her third child has been ‘much harder’ than she expected.
The reality star is already a mother of two with husband Kanye West, but was advised not to have a third pregnancy for medical reasons.
However, she admits, while she was initially happy to escape the physical challenges of pregnancy, she has struggled with the lack of control.
‘You know, it is really different,’ she told Entertainment Tonight. ‘Anyone that says or thinks it is just the easy way out is just completely wrong.’
‘It’s much harder than I expected’: Kim Kardashian is seen in Paris with husband Kanye West this month; she has opened up about the realities of surrogate pregnancy
Surrogate mother: Kim said she was thankful to her surrogate; the woman’s identity has not been publicly divulged
In fact, says the 37-year-old, the pregnancy has in some ways proved harder than her first two pregnancies, with four-year-old North and one-year-old Saint.
Kim revealed that she finds the lack of control particularly challenging, despite having total faith in the surrogate she chose.
‘I think it is so much harder to go through it this way, because you are not really in control,’ she admitted. ‘Obviously you pick someone that you completely trust and that you have a good bond and relationship with, but… knowing that I was able to carry my first two babies and not, you know, my baby now, it’s hard for me. So, it’s definitely a harder experience than I anticipated just in the control area.’
