Helen Mirren wants to do more Fast & Furious – but she has one demand

Dame Helen Mirren has revealed she wants to return to the Fast and Furious franchise… on one condition.

The cinema and theatre legend revealed she would be well up for reprising her role as Magdelene Shaw in the high-intensity action franchise, just so long as she’s allowed to drive this time.

“I’d love to come back. But, guys, I want to drive next time,” Mirren told Entertainment Weekly.

And the Dame makes a good point.

Mirren joined the franchise earlier this year when she appeared in The Fate of the Furious.

In the movie, she played the matriarch of the villainous Shaw clan, including Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) and Owen Shaw (Luke Evans).

During the interview, she also explained how and why she felt her role added a little something to the blockbuster franchise.

“They very kindly wrote me in and that was really sweet of them and I love those guys, they’re fantastic,” she added.

“I think [the idea of family is] one of the reasons they’re popular films, because that is the one element that everybody all over the world can identify with simply, easily, and directly, so it’s great to see this other level being brought in with the different generations of the family, the fact that family actually goes on through many generations over long periods of time.

“I thought that that was a nice thing to introduce into the storyline.”

So for number nine guys, just remember: more cars = more Helen.
