It Turns Out Will Smith Probably Didn’t Give Tyrese $5 Million

So apparently it was all bullshit.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, Tyrese Gibson claimed that Will Smith and wife, Jada Pinkett Smith gave him an eye-watering $5 million to help cover his court costs.

“My wife kept the news away from me cause I’ve been on with lawyers all day but our family and our sister Jada-Pinkett Smith and my brother Will Smith just sent us 5 million dollars to help keep us afloat,” Tyrese wrote in a caption to a photo of him laughing with Will Smith.

“You guys asked me to get off and stay off the Internet now that my daughter’s legal fees will be paid!”

But sources close to Smith have now told TMZ that the caption was simply untrue.

It comes after last Wednesday, when Tyrese had posted an emotional video in which he revealed his frustration about several issues related to a legal battle with his ex-wife.

Tyrese is currently fighting for Norma Mitchell to drop a restraining order which has prevented him from seeing their daughter, Shayla, for two months.

In the video, Tyrese touched upon his need for his wealthy friends to help him out.

“There ain’t nobody showing up for me,” Tyrese said in the video. “I’ve got all these millionaire friends, I’ve got billionaire friends. I’ve been there for you, why is nobody there for me.”

While Tyrese didn’t explain exactly what kind of help he needed, it was obvious to all those watching that he was talking about his financial problems.

One reason the Fast and Furious actor is struggling for money lately is because he is finding acting roles hard to come by. Last week he suggested that this is in part due to comments made about him by his ex-wife.

“She wakes up and decides on 11 September, this is what I feel like saying about Tyrese,” he claimed at the end of the video. “Nobody wants to hire me, Norma. Congratulations.”
