The forthcoming release of Furious 7, which hits theaters April 3, will likely be bittersweet for all those involved in the making of the film, as it serves as yet another reminder that Paul Walker is no longer with us.
Jordana Brewster, who plays the late actor’s love interest in the upcoming flick, smolders on the cover of BELLA New York in a sexy gold dress while opening up about the film’s release, the comradery amongst the cast and the legacy that Walker—who tragically died in a car crash at the age of 40 in November 2013—left.
“He was the most amazing person,” the 34-year-old actress said of her late co-star, “And I’m constantly reminded that he is not here. It’s very strange and so completely wrong.”
While the passing of Walker was undoubtedly a tough pill for friends, family and fans to swallow, Brewster says the cast, who has worked together on the franchise for over a decade, coped with the tragedy by supporting each other.
“We’ve been a family since 1999 and are fortunate to have one another; it’s what is getting us through this,” she told the mag.
Less than two months before Walker’s death, Brewster welcomed her first child, a son named Julian, via surrogate with husband Andrew Form, marking 2013 as both a year of triumphs and tragedy for the actress.
“I always feel guilty not being with my son,” she admitted, noting she is now far pickier with the projects she chooses. “I won’t go longer than two nights being away from him.”Brewster, who’s most important role in life is being a mom, often brings her son on set and is grateful for having a job with such flexibility.”I pinch myself that I chose this job,” she confessed.
But while the actress may love her line of work, the proud mama is most at peace when she’s with her family, and clearly, her son is her greatest source of joy.
“I am happiest when I hear my son giggle,” she gushed. “He has the best laugh I have ever heard.”
